Deborah Morrow '96 Hornberger was a shining light to those in her life.

Deb loved Susquehanna. It was the place where she made countless friends - many of whom she considered to be her extended family. She had a positive impact on everyone’s lives - including her niece, Erin Bell '24, who currently plays field hockey for SU. As a student, Deb studied geological and environmental science. Outside of the classroom, she was a standout on the women's lacrosse team and active member of crew. She was passionate about Susquehanna athletics and loved the tight-knit community surrounding them.

In Deb’s honor, Susquehanna University Field Hockey will host a memorial game on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 1 p.m. - when they take on Goucher College at Sassafras Field. All who knew and loved Deb are invited to come and show support. Additionally, her friends and teammates are encouraged to make a gift in her memory to the Deborah and Samuel Morrow Hornberger Scholarship Fund, which was created by Deb's family to aid Susquehanna University students majoring in the sciences.

Deb’s legacy and love for Susquehanna athletics lives on through her family and the SUFH community. Everyone who knew her can imagine how supportive (and loud!) she would have been during her niece’s field hockey games! We appreciate your support and your generosity, and we are looking forward to seeing many of you on October 8.
