HOMECOMING REUNION WEEKEND SCHEDULE 

WEDNESDAY, October 20

8:00 p.m. Claritas Distinguished Lecture in the Sciences - The Distinguished Visitor Program at Susquehanna University was endowed by George E. '64 and Margaret Lauver '66 Harris to support lectures, seminars or residencies by nationally recognized leaders in business, government or education on topics in the public interest. This series brings an accomplished scholar in the sciences to our campus annually for a public address. The public lecture is typically held in the fall of the academic year. Open to the public.

THURSDAY, October 21

7:30 p.m.  Annual Schmidt Lecture in Ethics - The Edward S. and A. Rita Schmidt Lectureship in Ethics is designed to impart to students the value and role of ethics in professional and personal endeavors. Established by Edward R. Schmidt '69, a member of Susquehanna University's board of trustees, the lectureship encourages dialogue on ethical thinking in all areas of academic preparation. Open to the public.

8 p.m.               Musical “The Full Monty” – Degenstein Theatre in the campus center (adult content). Tickets available by calling the box office at (570) 372-ARTS.

FRIDAY, October 22

1 p.m.               Golf Outing – Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Pre-registration required. For more information, contact the office of alumni relations at alumni@susqu.edu or 570-372-4115. Fee is $55 per person payable at the country club.

6 – 8 p.m.         Milestone reception – Evert Dining Hall (by invitation only) Celebrating the most successful campaign in Susquehanna’s history.

8 p.m.               Musical “The Full Monty” – Degenstein Theatre in the campus center (adult content). Tickets available by calling the box office at (570) 372-ARTS.

SATURDAY, October 23

11:30 a.m.         Reunion Lunches – celebrating with the classes of 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975, 1970, 1965, 1960, 1955, and 1950 (please see the reunion webpages for more information specific to your reunion class)

11:30-1 p.m.      Library reception and book signing - Author David White '90 will be available to answer questions and sign copies of his book, Overcoming OCD & Depression, at a reception for library student workers, past and present, his classmates and the rest of the campus community. Blough-Weis Library

11:30 - 1:30 p.m. - Kappa Delta invites all of its alumni and their families to a luncheon where you can meet current sisters and catch up with old friends. You can also watch the parade from the house. 314 University Avenue

12-4 p.m.          Kids Carnival

12 p.m.             Alpha Delta Pi - Alumni event at 216/218 West Chestnut St.

1:00 p.m.          Parade – “Parade of Elements” join us in celebrating science as the annual parade takes the periodic table to the streets. If you purchased an element paver for the new science building, come as your element and join the parade. Pre-registration required to walk or ride in the parade. University Avenue

2:00 p.m.          Science Bldg Dedication and reception – join us as we celebrate the official opening of the new science building. Meet us indoors following the dedication for light refreshments. Meet our current students and catch up with science professors and fellow graduates you haven’t seen in years.

2:30 p.m.          Musical matinee “The Full Monty” – Degenstein Theatre in the campus center (adult content). Tickets available by calling the box office at (570) 372-ARTS.

3-4:00 p.m.        ZTA Reunion Reception, Meeting Rooms, Degenstein Campus Center. Appetizers and drinks $10 per person. Kids are free.

4:00 p.m.          Football game vs. Johns Hopkins – the Crusaders take on Johns Hopkins University’s Blue Jays. Stagg Field, Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium.

5:00 – 8 p.m.     All alumni dinner in the tent - join fellow alumni, faculty, and friends in the tent. Food, beverages and entertainment will be provided. Proper ID required for admittance. Family members accompanying adults may also be admitted. Field beside Smith Hall.

9 p.m.      Entertainment – take your pick

·         The class of 1970 invites you TRAX, the on-campus nightclub for oldies music and refreshments. Proper ID required for admittance. TRAX Tickets are $10

·         The class of 1990 invites you back to the tent for the band, The Badlees, featuring lead singer, Pete Palladino ’90. Proper ID required for admittance. Field beside Smith Hall. Tickets are $10

SUNDAY, October 24

11 a.m.                 Worship Service – this festive service of word and sacrament will include special music by university organist Marcos Krieger and the Susquehanna University Chorale, under the direction of Colin Armstrong. University chaplain Mark Wm. Radecke will preach and preside. The service includes a time of remembrance and thanksgiving for alumni who died during the preceding year. All are welcome. Weber Chapel Auditorium.

1 p.m.              Alumni Awards Banquet – Evert Dining Hall. Please join us in honoring our 2010 award winners.

REGISTRATION and INFORMATION

Please stop by registration in Mellon Lounge for your free gift and to pick up tickets to events. Registration will be open Friday, October 22nd from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 23rd from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

Shuttle service is available from 7 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. Shuttles will run from campus to hotels in Selinsgrove, Shamokin Dam, and Lewisburg, making stops at numerous hotels and several locations on campus. Park your car, leave it there, and use this great alternative to driving and parking.
